Farmingdale, NY – The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team defeated #8 Farmingdale State 8-3 in non conference action on the road Sunday afternoon.
Justin Nugent led the Lions with two goals and two assists. Jayson Marbach scored one goal and two assists. Kyle Jennings, Billy Reilly, and Alex Hyatt scored a goal and one assist a piece. Scott Witmyer put up three assists to earn his 100th career point.
Reilly put the Lions on the board at the 17:07 mark in the first period. Farmingdale State tied the game three minutes later. Jennings scored at 11:55 to retake the lead, but Farmingdale State tied the game 2-2 with 25.1 seconds left in the first.
Bryn Athyn's Marbach scored at 11:50 to help the Lions take a 3-2 lead. The Rams tied the game at 3-3, with 8:32 left in the second period.
Johnson started the scoring, 45 seconds into the third period. Nugent added to the scoring at 10:09 to build the Lions lead to 5-3. The Rams scored their lone goal in the third at the 7:27 mark. Bryn Athyn answered with two goals to win the game 8-1.
Kyle Watters made 31 saves in net for the Lions.
Men's Ice Hockey heads to Warwick Ice on Friday, November 21st to take on #1 California University of Pa. at 9:15 pm in the Empire Classic.
