St. Clair Shores, MI. – Bryn Athyn College's men's ice hockey team continued their upward trend as they picked up the No. 7 spot in the recent Atlantic Region rankings, their highest ranking in program history, since moving to the ACHA National Division.
After sticking in the No.8 spot for five consecutive weeks, the Lions jumped up 12 points all the way to 51 in the voting announced on Friday, December 13. Starting the season with their best record in recent program history (7-4-1), the No. 7 Lions will carry this wave of momentum into the New Year.

In the last eight games, Bryn Athyn went 5-3. The Lions took down ranked Alvernia and East Stroudsburg in conference action. They also went 3-0 at the Empire Classic, defeating teams from three different power conferences.
The Lions are led by freshman Scott Witmyer. He recorded 12 goals and 15 assists in nine games, for 27 points. His fellow lineman, Terrence Johnson tallied 11 goals and 15 assists in 11 games for 26 points. David DalCortivo leads the defense with nine goals and five assists for 14 points.
The Lions return from break for their opening weekend contest with the University of Delaware on 1/12. Before the next ranking period, Bryn Athyn will host its multi-conference tournament on 1/18 & 1/19 with #2 Farmingdale State, #3 Pitt-Johnstown, and #8 Richard Stockton attending.
