BRYN ATHYN, Pa. -- The Dave Sheaffer era for the Bryn Athyn College men's tennis program will get underway on Tuesday, March 13 when the Lions travel to Gwynedd Mercy University to open the 2018 season. It is the first of 11 matches on the team's schedule.
After facing Gwynedd Mercy for the first time since the 2013 season, the Lions will play three straight home matches. The home stand begins on March 17 with Bryn Athyn attempting to win its seventh straight match against Rosemont. The Lions will look to defeat Delaware Valley University for the third time in four matches one week later on March 24. Bryn Athyn squares off with Eastern for the first time in four seasons on March 26.
The month of March comes to an end with a trip to DeSales on March 28.
North Eastern Athetlc Conference (NEAC) begins on April 4 with Bryn Athyn playing host to Lancaster Bible. Three days later, the Lions go back on the road to take on defending NEAC champion Penn State Berks.
Bryn Athyn's final home match of the season will come on April 14 against visiting Penn College.
The final three matches of the season will be on the road, starting on April 18 at Penn State Abington. Bryn Athyn ends 2018 on the weekend of April 20-21 with trips to Arcadia for the final non-conference match of the season and St. Elizabeth to take on the first-year Eagles in a NEAC match.
In 2017, the Lions went 2-8.
