Bryn Athyn, Pa.- The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team sailed past PSU- Brandywine 5-1 in Friday night action.
Danny Triesler led the Lions with four points, notching two goals and two assists. Terrence Johnson recorded three assists, while Scott Witmyer and Sean Feyler each added a goal and one assist.
Momentum switched back and forth between Bryn Athyn and PSU-Brandywine, as the first 19 minutes of the game remained scoreless. With just over a minute left in the first, Billy Martin and Johnson found Triesler to give the Lions a 1-0 lead going into the break.
At 8:37 in the second, the Lions tallied a power play goal when Johnson found Jordan Roth who took a shot on goal, and Triesler picked up the rebound. Five minutes later Blake McCurdy hit a one-timer from the top of the point to give the Lions a 3-0 lead. Sean Feyler picked up the assist.
50 seconds into the third, Triesler and Johnson connected with Witmyer for the goal. PSU-Brandywine answered three minutes later, making the score 4-1. With 8:39 left in regulation, Feyler scored the final goal of the game from the right wing, assisted by Witmyer and Triesler.
The Lions return to the ice Saturday, February 1st to host Alvernia. The game is slated for 8:00pm.
