Men's Ice Hockey Rallies Past Rowan, 6-3

Bryn Athyn, Pa.- The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team took down Rowan 6-3 in Friday night action.

Terrence Johnson led the Lions with five points, notching two goals and three assists. Scott Witmyer had a four point night, with two goals and two assists. Dave DalCartivo added two assists.

The Lions got on the board first at 15:47 when Witmyer and Dustin Synnestvedt found Danny Triesler for a backdoor goal. At 10:58, Witmyer found the back of the net from the right side, assisted by DalCartivo and Johnson. 

During the second period, the Lions took a 3-0 lead at the 9:25 mark when Witmyer connected with Johnson for the goal. Rowan answered two minutes later, to bring the game within two. At 4:42, Johnson deked the goalie to extend the lead 4-1. Witmyer picked up the assists. At 1:45, Johnson found Billy Martin to give the Lions a commanding four point lead going into the second break.

At 12:48 in the third, Kyle Watters recorded three saves during a scramble in front of the net to rob Rowan of a goal. At 8:29, Rowan picked up their second goal of the night. Three minutes later, the Owls scored again to bring the game within two, 5-3. At 3:43, Witmyer deked the goalie and secured a 6-3 win for the Lions. Johnson picked up the assist.

The Lions return to the ice Wednesday, January 29th to host Neumann. The puck is set to drop at 8:00pm.
