Men's Ice Hockey Falls to SUNY Maritime 6-3

Bryn Athyn, Pa.- The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team fell 6-3 to SUNY Maritime in Saturday night action.

David DalCortivo led the Lions with a goal and one assist. Travis McCurdy and Sean Feyler each notched a goal. Blake McCurdy, Jayson Marbach, Dustin Synnestvedt, Ray Norfo, and Danny Triesler each recorded an assist.

During the first period of play, SUNY Maritime took a 2-0 lead.

Bryn Athyn answered in the second period at the 8:39 mark, when Feyler scored top shelf off a pass from Blake McCurdy and Marbach. The Privateers scored two quick goals to take a 4-1 lead going into the third period.

During the final period of play, the Lions scored a power play goal at the 18:13 mark as Synnestvedt and DalCortivo found Travis McCurdy on the right hand side for the goal. At 10:18, the Privateers scored again, taking a 5-2 lead. Bryn Athyn answered five minutes later during a scramble in front of the net. DalCortivo scored, assisted by Norfo and Triesler. At 1:26 a SUNY Maritime player was called for head contact and the Lions pulled their goalie for a two man advantage. The Maritime scored on the empty net with 59 seconds left, to win 6-3.

The Lions head on the road Saturday, December 14th to face Richard Stockton. The game is slated for 4:50pm at the Flyers Skate Zone in Atlantic City, NJ.
