Aston, Pa.- The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team defeated ranked Neumann University 5-4 in Sunday afternoon conference play.

Terrence Johnson scored two goals and two assists. Scott Witmyer had one goal and three assists. David DalCortivo notched four assits. Travis McCurdy scored one goal. Billy Martin scored the game winning goal and Sean Feyler added one assist.

The Lions got on the board first one minute into the game, when Witmyer took the puck up the right wing and crossed it to Johnson in the slot for the goal. With a Bryn Athyn player in the box for tripping, Neumann scores from top of the circle and tied it up at the 12:01 mark. At 7:28, DalCortivo found Travis McCurdy on the left post for the go ahead goal.

During the second period of play, Benjamin Silvers kept the Lions' lead alive, blocking a Neumann shot. At the 10:16 mark, Witmyer found Johnson who went on a breakaway and deked the goalie, increasing Bryn Athyn's lead 3-1.  Less than a minute later, DalCortivo crossed the puck to Witmyer in the slot to take a 4-1 lead. The Knights scored two quick goals, to chip away at the Lions' lead and bring the game within one.

In the final period, Kyle Watters kept the Lions' lead alive at the 12:42 mark, making a key save during a scramble in front of the net. With 3:19 left in the period, the Knights scored from the top of the point on a screen, to tie the game at 4-4. Bryn Athyn had a chance at the 1:42 mark when Witmyer hit the post. With one second left in the game, Johnson scored what he thought was the game winner. However, due to a clock malfunction, the goal was deemed no good because time had actually run out.

During overtime action, DalCortivo passed the puck to Feyler, who was deep in the offensive circle.  Feyler moved into the middle of the slot and back passed to Martin who scored the game winner from the left side at the 1:04 mark.

Witmyer expressed, "We came out with a lot of energy and over came adversity once again. Watters played great in between the pipes and we had good team defense behind him. It feels good to get two points today and a team win. Now its time to put these two wins behind us and look to get another big win friday night against PSU-Brandywine.

Watters made 18 saves in net for Bryn Athyn.

Bryn Athyn finishes the weekend, sweeping two nationally ranked teams and picking up a key conference win.
