BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – Bryn Athyn College men's lacrosse head coach Tucker Durkin has resigned from his position to become an assistant coach at Division I Drexel University. The announcement was made Thursday by Bryn Athyn College Director of Athletics David Leach.
"While Tucker's departure is a loss for the Bryn Athyn College Athletic family, we're thrilled for him and will be rooting for his continued success at Drexel," said Leach.
In his four seasons at Bryn Athyn, Durkin led the Lions to four postseason appearances and a 30-29 overall record. The Lions had their most success under Durkin in 2018 when the team won a program-record nine games and came within in goal from winning the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Tournament. During the 2017 season, Bryn Athyn scored a program-best 194 goals.
"I am beyond grateful for my time at Bryn Athyn College," said Durkin. "The coaches and staff are truly amazing people. I will always be thankful for the players I was lucky enough to coach."
Durkin's coaching led to the Lions earning all-conference recognition 26 times, including Cameron Leech taking home the NEAC Offensive Player of the Year award in 2018. In the classroom, the Lions were represented on a conference all-academic team on 15 occasions.
A national search to find Durkin's replacement is underway.
