Bryn Athyn, Pa. - Following their big conference win last night, members of the Bryn Athyn College hockey team took to the ice this afternoon at their home rink, Jungé Ice Rink and Pavilion, to skate with their loyal fans.
Players took time to race and skate with their fans who have supported them all season for their playoff push. Even with snow cover roads, many fans came out to spend time with their favorite players and be a part of the team.
Captain Danny Triesler expressed, "We loved seeing the smiles on the kids faces and also on the parents who came out as well. I think we had equal amounts of fun as the kids did. This community has done so much for us on many different levels and our entire team is extremely appreciative for the support within Bryn Athyn and all of the fans we have at every home and away game. This was just one of many ways to come for us to say thank you. As a team and organization we are grateful we have a chance to give back to a place that has given so much to us."
Leading scorer Terrence Johnson stated, "It was awesome to have fun with the kids today. I think we had a better time than they did. It felt good to give back. We would love to do something like this again."
Freshman goaltender Steven Altman said, "It was a lot of fun to be able to meet and skate with our fans and learn about the people who have supported us all year long. Considering the weather, it was a success and we look forward to putting together another skate with the Lions. Thank you for your continued support and we hope to see more fans in the future."
The Lions head on the road tomorrow to take on Richard Stockton to finish off their regular season. The puck is set to drop at 2:45 pm. The game will be played at Flyer Skate Zone, in Atlantic City, NJ.
