Men's Ice Hockey Looks to Finish the Regular Season Strong

Bryn Athyn, Pa. - The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey hosts D1 Drexel on Wednesday, February 6th and conference opponent Widener on Friday, February 8th. The team wraps up their regular season schedule on the road against Richard Stockton on Sunday, February 10th. 

The Lions are currently ranked third in the American Division with a 6-3 record and are riding a five game conference win streak. Bryn Athyn currently leads the league in goals for with 53. 

On Wednesday night, the Lions host the Drexel Dragons. The last time the two teams met, the Lions were defeated 7-3. David Dalcartivo and Blake McCurdy led the team with a goal and an assist each. Cade Gurney, Travis McCurdy, Terrence Johnson, Patrick Huber, and Andrew Manogue each recorded an assist, while Ray Weissler added a goal. The team looks to use this game as preparation for conference opponent Widener on Friday.

Bryn Athyn wraps up their home game schedule against conference opponent Widener. The Pride is currently 1-7 in the conference, and the last time the Lions and the Pride met, Bryn Athyn posted a 9-2 victory. 

Danny Triesler and Jordan Roth had a hat-trick each. Dustin Synnestvedt put in two goals, Drew Collins notched one goal, and Patrick Huber added an assist.

Treisler opened up the scoring with a rip from the right wing to beat the goalie, in the first three minutes of the game. The Pride would score a goal midway through the first period, off a power play to tie the game at 1-1.Roth scored the next three goals to record his first career natural hat-trick with the Lions, giving Bryn Athyn a commanding 4-1 lead.The Lions would put in five more goals before Widener scored to chip away at the Lions' lead. Bryn Athyn scored four power-play goals and five even strength goals. Steven Altman recorded his first career win in goal for the Lions. 

On Sunday, the Lions head on the road to face Richard Stockton for the final game of the regular season.  The last time the two teams met, the Lions outshot the Ospreys 46-28 en route to an 8-4 victory. Travis McCurdy led the team with three goals and an assist, recording his first hat-trick. Ray Weissler notched three assists, while Terrence Johnson recorded two goals. Jordan Roth, and Blake McCurdy each added one goal and one assist. Ray Norfo notched a goal, and Cade Gurney recorded an assist.
