Pennsauken, NJ – The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team edged past Rutgers-Camden 8-7 in conference action Friday night.
Terrence Johnson and Jordan Roth led the Lions with three goals and one assist each. Ray Norfo and Danny Triesler scored a goal and assist each. Blake McCurdy, Dustin Synnestvedt and Nick Tate had two assists each.
In the first minute, Bryn Athyn took a goal led from Norfo and Roth. Roth would score with 6:16 left in the first period to take a three goal lead going into the break.
Rutgers-Camden answered back with three goal to tie the game 3-3 with 8:00 left in the second period. Triesler scored to give the Lions the lead at the 3:15 mark, but Rutgers wouldn't let down and tied it again 45 seconds later.
After the second period, the game was tied at four all.
Rutgers-Camden took the led in the third period but the Lions came back to tie it at 13:25 mark, off a goal, from Johnson. Johnson scored again five minutes later, but Rutgers would not let down and scored at the four minute mark to tie the game 6-6. Roth answered the call and scored with 3:25 left, but Rutgers again would score to tie the game at 7-7. With 1:29 left in the game, Johnson scored the game-winning goal to give the Lions conference win on the road.
