BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's lacrosse team returns to action against Immaculata in a home match on Saturday, March 10 at 2 p.m. on General Ronald K. Nelson Field. The match was originally scheduled to be played at Immaculata, but was moved due to snow cover on Immaculata's field after the snow storm on Wednesday.
LAST TIME OUT
Bryn Athyn dropped to 0-2 during the early stages of the season after an 18-11 loss to Mount Saint Mary College on March 3. Nolan Frame scored four times in the loss, while Cameron Leech racked up three goals and three assists. Bryn Athyn trailed 8-6 at the half, but the visiting Knights pulled away in the second half as they doubled up the Lions 10-5 in the final 30 minutes.
Immaculata is 1-4 after losing its second straight match, 14-3 to Ohio Northern on March 6. Brian Shultis, Mike Reardon, and Christian Fisher each scored for the Mighty Macs.
SERIES HISTORY
Saturday marks the fifth meeting between Bryn Athyn and Immaculata with each team winning twice on its home field. In last year's meeting, the Lions outscored the Mighty Macs 4-0 in the final quarter to snap a 10-all time and pick up a 14-10 triumph on General Ronald K. Nelson Field. Bryn Athyn's other win over Immaculata was at home in 2015 by a 17-11 score.
SCOUTING THE LIONS
After his four-goal performance against Mount Saint Mary, Nolan Frame took over the team lead in goals with five, one coming on a man-up opportunity. Frame is tied for four in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) in goals. He has taken 13 shots in the first two matches, putting 11 on target.
Cameron Leech sits second in the NEAC with a team-high five assists and is tied for third in the conference with eight points. The six points he had against Mount Saint Mary are the most by a Lion this season.
Jon Carr has back-to-back two-goal games, while Andrew Coyle scored three times—twice against the Knights.
Brad DePasquale sits second in the NEAC with 22 saves. He has a 45.8 save percentage and a 13.29 goals against average.
The Lions improved on faceoffs against the Knights, winning 12 after claiming just one in the season opener.
Bryn Athyn is second in the NEAC with a 33.3 man-up conversion percentage, scoring twice in six opportunities.
SCOUTING IMMACULATA
Brian Shultis is the Mighty Macs top scorer with nine goals and four assists in five matches this season. Shultis has recorded multiple points in the last four matches. He ranked third on the team with 13 ground balls.
Mike Reardon—the team's second-leading scorer with eight goals—has found the back of the net in four straight matches, including hat tricks against Wesley and Lebanon Valley.
Immaculata has won 36.4 percent (36-of-99) of its faceoffs this season. Kyle Roche is the Mighty Macs' primary faceoff taker and has won 32 faceoffs in 90 attempts.
Denton States has an 11.62 goals against average, 49 saves, and a .462 save percentage in the Immaculata net. The Mighty Macs have allowed at least 50 shot attempts three times.
Immaculata has been outscored 59-29 so far this season but has outscored its opponents 14-13 in the fourth quarter. The Mighty Macs have scored more than six goals in a match once this season, 11 times in an 11-8 home win over Wesley on Feb. 28.
