Bryn Athyn Pa – The men's Lacrosse team hosted SUNY Cobleskill on Friday afternoon in a must win to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Lions jumped all over Cobleskill early and cruise to the 19-4 victory.
The Lions jumped all over Cobleskill early and outscored the Tigers 6-0 in the first quarter. The Lions offense was led by Ryan Landels, Jesse Frazier and Nolan Frame who scored two goals each in the quarter.
The second was much of the same as the Lions defense kept the Tigers at bay after giving up an early goal. The Lions then scored the next four goals to extend their lead by nine, 10-1. The Lions were led by Andrew Coyle in the quarter, who scored two goals both assisted by Ryan Landels.
In the third with a pretty good hand on the lead, the Lions looked to work the clock to keep the Tigers off the scoreboard. The Tigers again scored the first goal of the quarter to make the score 10-2. The Lions scored four unanswered goals led by Nolan Frame with two goals. The third ended with the Lions ahead safely 16-3.
The Lions again used the fourth quarter to work the clock and secure the lead. The Lions added three more goals and held Cobleskill to one. The Lions held on for the 19-4 victory.
The Lions Nolan Frame and Ryan Landels both contributed six goals on the day to lead the Lions. Robert Moran made 18 saves on 21 shots for Bryn Athyn.
The Lions move to 8-3 overall and 4-2 in the NEAC. The Lions are back in action in another important NEAC game on Sunday April 24th as they host SUNY Poly at 12 pm.
Sunday the 24th will also be the celebration of 50 years of lacrosse at Bryn Athyn College, all alumni, family and friends are invited to the ceremony at halftime of the SUNY Poly game.
