Bryn Athyn, Pa.- The Bryn Athyn College men's lacrosse team is set to host Penn State Abington on Thursday, March 14th in their first varsity game.
Coach King expressed, "We're very excited about starting this new varsity program for the school. Our goals for this season are to play our hardest in every game and to establish a lacrosse base to build on for upcoming years. With a young team, we're looking forward to the future."
The Lions look to be solid on defense, led by freshman captain Patrick Funchion and sophomore captain James Lindrooth. Lindrooth is a transfer student from Springfield College, who made an NCAA tournament appearance last season. He brings maturity and a high level of play to the team.
Bryn Athyn is scheduled to play 12 games this season against NCAA opponents, including Eastern University, Alvernia, Arcadia, and Richard Stockton.
Junior captain Matt Bartalini stated, "We're all really excited to get the first game of the year under our belts and hopefully start the season on a high note with a win.
Freshman captain Funchion said, "The team and I are excited about the season. We're looking forward to working hard, and having a successful season."
