WORCESTER, Mass. – The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team concluded its weekend playing in the Steve Hoar Memorial Invitational at Becker College with a 4-1 loss to Division II Stonehill Sunday afternoon at the Worcester Ice Center.

Tanner Congdon recorded his second goal of the season with 12:20 left in the contest to bring the Lions (4-4-0) within 3-1. Jimmy Lockamyeir assisted on the even-strength goal.

Stonehill (3-3-1) raced out to a 3-0 lead after two periods of play.

The Skyhawks scored twice during the first period. Shamus Maloney opened the scored with a short-handed goal at 6:02 mark. Just over five minutes later, Christopher Page tallied an even-strength goal for Stonehill's second goal.

In the second period, Connor Jewett tallied the only goal of the 20-minute session, with assists from James Varney and Stark, with 5:25 gone.

After Congdon notched Bryn Athyn's goal, Kyle Woodruff allowed Stonehill to regain its three-goal advantage at the 14:11 mark of the third period.

Landon Trutt made his first start of the season for Bryn Athyn and stopped 35 Stonehill shots. The Skyhawks' Billy Palmer recorded 40 saves.

Bryn Athyn owned a 41-39 shot advantage. Neither team was successful on the man advantage as Bryn Athyn went 0-for-5 and Stonehill was 0-for-4.

Bryn Athyn will play its first home game of the 2017-18 season when it hosts Lebanon Valley College on Friday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m.
