2017-18 Bryn Athyn College Men's Ice Hockey Schedule

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The 50th season of ice hockey at Bryn Athyn College, and the first as a NCAA Division III program, will get underway on Friday, Oct. 27 at Division II Saint Anselm College. It will be the first of 24 games on the 2017-18 schedule that head coach Andrew Burke released on Thursday.

The Lions are slated to play 13 away contests, including eight straight to open the season, and 11 at home.

After the season opener at Saint Anselm, the Lions head to New England College for a showdown with the New England Hockey Conference runner-up on Oct. 28. Then, Bryn Athyn travels to Shelton, Conn. the weekend of Nov. 4-5 to square off against Division II Post.

Bryn Athyn closes out the month with the Steve Hoar Memorial Invitational at Becker College on Nov. 25-26. The Lions play the host Hawks on the 25th and either Fitchburg State or Division II Stonehill one day later.

December is a light month for the Lions as they have only two games lined up. Bryn Athyn will play its first home game of the season on Dec. 1 against Lebanon Valley College at the Revolution Ice Gardens in Warwick, Pa. The final game of 2017 is Dec. 5 at Elmira.

After a month layoff, Bryn Athyn returns to action on Jan. 5-6 against visiting Curry College. They are the first two of seven straight home games at Junge Pavilion on the Bryn Athyn campus. The Lions will play three games in a busy five-day span when they welcome Western New England (Jan. 10), Chatham (Jan. 13), and Cortland State (Jan. 14) to the Pavilion.

The string of home games comes to an end on Jan. 19-20 against a familiar opponent in Aquinas College. Aquinas won the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) championship, eliminating Bryn Athyn in the semifinals on its way to the title.

Bryn Athyn goes back on the road to face Utica on Jan. 26.

The Lions open February with their second meeting of the season with King's (Pa.), this one coming on Feb. 2 in Junge Pavilion. Twenty-four hours later, Bryn Athyn is back on the road with a trip to Neumann University.

Bryn Athyn's final two home games of the season are slated for the weekend of Feb. 9-10 against SUNY Canton. The regular season ends with return trips on Lebanon Valley and Chatham on Feb. 16 and 17, respectively.

Last season, Bryn Athyn went 23-2 overall, won the Delaware Valley Collegiate Hockey Conference National Conference, and reached the semifinals of the ACHA Tournament.
