Men's Ice Hockey Team Stays Hot in 12-1 Win Over Dickinson

Mechanicsburg, PA. – The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team stays hot in 12-1 win over Dickinson College in Saturday night action. 

Terrence Johnson led the Lions with four goals and two assists. Ray Norfo put up two goals and two assists. Ray Weissler notched two goals.  Danny Triesler, Travis McCurdy, Dave Dalcartivo and Cade Gurney scored a goal each.

While the offense remained hot for the second night in a row, the Bryn Athyn defense stifled the Red Devils on Saturday and kept the visiting team to just 22 shots on the night. Junior goaltender Matthew Bartalini picked up his first win of the season. 

Bryn Athyn got on the board 4:06 in the first period, when Benjamin Silvers passed the puck to Norfo, who tallied in the goal. A minute later, Triesler scored from a pass off Jordan Roth and Dustin Synnestvedt. Johnson notched an unassisted goal with 12:00 minutes left in the first period. Before the break, Gurney scored to give the Lions a 4-0 lead.

The Lions didn't let down the offense, as five different players scored to extend the Bryn Athyn lead in the second period. McCurdy sparked the offense 1:45 into period. Norfo scored his second goal of the night three minutes later, off a pass from Roth and Johnson. Weissler added to lead at the 14:10 mark. Johnson would score the next three goals to give the Lions a 10-1 lead. 

Weissler and DalCartivo scored in the third period to give the Lions a 12-1 win.

Johnson stated, "This was a good team win. We are staying on the path to make a strong push at the end of season."

Norfo said, "Everyone played well, we all hustled and capitalized on our chances." 

Assistant Coach Burke expressed, "Tonight was a true test of our teams character. We are in the middle of three games in four nights stretch and the team responded by coming out and get that crucial first goal."

Bryn Athyn returns back home on Monday to face Lehigh in DVCHC action. Puck drops at 8:00 pm.
