Townson, MD. – The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team fell on the road to D1 Towson, 12-6 in Saturday night action.
Travis McCurdy and Terrence Johnson led the Lions with two goals. Cade Gurney and Tyler McBride put in one goal. David Dalcartivo and Steve Cappas notched two assists.
In the first period, McCurdy and Gurney got the Lions on the board and kept the game within in one going into the second period.
The Tigers came out strong in the second period building their lead to 9-4. McCurdy scored to chip away at the lead of a pass from Cappas and Dalcartivo. Before heading into the second break, Johnson scored on an unassisted goal.
McCurdy would score two goals in the third period to end the game at 12-6.
Assistant Coach Andrew Burke expressed, " It was a pretty strong game for us, there was a lot of positives for the team to move forward from. It was nice to see the new systems working well and lines were connecting as a group."
Lions return home to face DVCHC opponent PSU-Harrisburg. The game is set for 8:00 pm.
