Men's basketball takes on NEAC southern division leader Lancaster Bible in Asplundh Field House Saturday

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's basketball team's four-game home stand comes to an end when the Lions play host to Lancaster Bible, who sits atop the North Eastern Athletic Conference's southern division, on Saturday, Jan. 20 in Asplundh Field House at 1 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Bryn Athyn (7-9, 4-3 NEAC) was outscored 7-0 in the final 2:20 of the second half in its 74-70 loss to Penn State Abington on Jan. 17 in Asplundh Field House. Lamarr Crenshaw paced Bryn Athyn with a game-high 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting, nine rebounds, and three steals. Larry Stevenson III knocked down five 3-pointers on his way to a 17-point night. Rahim Washington had with 16 points, six rebounds, and three assists.

Lancaster Bible (11-4, 7-0 NEAC) notched its third straight victory by defeating Keuka 69-59 on Jan. 14. Herbie Brown was the Chargers' leading scorer with 14 points on 7-of-12 shooting. Christo Majok added 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Jalen Archer recorded 10 points.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
The Lions are averaging 75.7 points, 3.8 above their season average, during this home stand.

Rahim Washington is second in the NEAC in scoring at 19.3 points per game. Washington is putting up 19.7 points per game in conference play, which is sixth in the conference. He is second in steals (33) and made field goals (104), third in made free throws (66), and seventh in assists (53). The NEAC's minutes per game leader with 36.8, Washington has played 206 of the 210 minutes of action in the last five games.

Larry Stevenson III has stepped up during the home stand, averaging 19.0 points per game and shooting 50.0 percent (13-of-26) from 3-point range. He is making 51.3 percent (20-of-39) of his shots in the last three games. Stevenson III has increased his season scoring average to 8.1 points per game.

Lamarr Crenshaw remains the Lions' second-leading scorer with 15.3 points per game, 12th in the NEAC. His shooting percentage is up to 50.6 percent, 11th in the conference. Crenshaw leads the Lions with 6.5 rebounds per game. During the home stand, Crenshaw is averaging 15.3 points per game and shooting 48.5 percent from the field.  

Christian Rivera has posted 11.3 points, a team-high 6.7 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in the last three games. He is up to 9.3 points per game for the season.

SCOUTING LANCASTER BIBLE
Lancaster Bible has been getting it done on the defensive end of the floor, leading the NEAC in scoring defense (67.8 points per game), ranking second in opponent field goal percentage (40.7 percent), and third in steals (9.6 per game).

On the offensive end, the Chargers are second in field goal percentage (44.8 points) and fifth in scoring (76.2 points per game).  The team averages 80.8 points per game in their wins and just 63.5 points in the losses.

Herbie Brown is Lancaster Bible's leading scorer with 16.3 points per game, which is 10th in the conference. He has made 94 shots, to rank fifth in the NEAC, and is shooting 49.5 percent, which is 15th. Brown is adding 28 steals.

Brown is averaging 14.8 points in the 11 Lancaster Bible wins and putting up 20.3 points per game in the team's four losses.

Christo Majok is one of two players in the NEAC to be averaging a double-double as he has 13.3 points per game and 10.0 rebounds per game, the second-best rebounding average in the conference. Majok is first in the NEAC with 40 steals and fourth in field goal percentage at 54.3 percent.

SERIES HISTORY
Bryn Athyn has a 1-7 record against Lancaster Bible. The Lions won the very first meeting with the Chargers, 76-70 on Dec. 18, 2013 in Asplundh Field House. Since then, the Chargers have rattled off seven straight wins. In three meetings last year, the margin of victory was 4.3 points.
