Bryn Athyn College is doing a check-in series with its student-athletes to see how they are adjusting during the COVID-19 pandemic. Today's featured student-athlete is Kailey Brower. Kalie is a sophomore field hockey player at Bryn Athyn College.
1. How did you initially take the news that Bryn Athyn was going completely online for the spring trimester?
The unknown can be scary so I was definitely concerned. We didn't know how long we would be sent home for, if we would see our senior friends and teammates again, how online classes would go, and how we would adjust to it. I can't wait to see everyone again in the fall!
2. How have you adjusted to online learning?
At first, it was difficult because it's not what I'm used to. Time management was the biggest challenge for me. However, as the weeks have gone by I have adjusted just fine!
3. What have you missed the most about being at Bryn Athyn?
Definitely my friends, teammates, and coach. I miss seeing them in class, in halls or outside, and at lunch!
4. What have you been doing to remain active and healthy at home?
I downloaded the Nike Fitness app to keep in shape with at-home workouts. I highly recommend it as it has workouts for all levels!
5. What activities have you been doing at home to take your mind off of classes and being at home?
Spending time with my family as much as I can and doing some hobbies I love that relieve some of my stress.
6. How have you kept in contact with your teammates?
We are all so close, I miss them like crazy. We have been using social media and GroupMe to keep in contact and will start using Teams to see each other.
