BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – In response to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Bryn Athyn College department of athletics has cancelled all athletic competitions and practices for the rest of the spring season, effectively immediately. This move is in conjunction with the Colonial States Athletic Conference and its 11 college presidents unanimously agreeing to suspend its spring season Friday.
On Friday, March 13, the NCAA approved several measures in response to the pandemic and its impact on the 2020 spring season, including an additional semester and season of eligibility for all student-athletes participating in spring sports, the removal of a minimum threshold of sponsored spring sports, and the flexibility for schools to assist students with travel, lodging and meals as a result of campus displacement.
Bryn Athyn College will recognize its senior student-athletes who had their final collegiate season cut short on social media starting next week.
Bryn Athyn College is conducting all classes in an online capacity. The College will be monitoring the situation and will reevaluate the situation as needed.
