United East Announces Men's Basketball All-Conference Awards

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - On Wedenday February 28, the United East Conference announced end of season awards for men's basketball. Much like the season, these awards reflected program history for the Lions. The Lions placed a program high four student-athletes on the three all-conference teams and Coach Sean Westerlund and staff received the first end of season major award in program history with the acknowledgment of Coach of the Year. 
BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - On Wedenday February 28, the United East Conference announced end of season awards for men's basketball. Much like the season, these awards reflected program history for the Lions. The Lions placed a program high four student-athletes on the three all-conference teams and Coach Sean Westerlund and staff received the first end of season major award in program history with the acknowledgment of Coach of the Year. 

Coach Sean Westerlund and Staff - Coach of the Year
Westerlund has been head coach of the Lions since July 2020 and has led the team for three seasons of competition. Westerlund and his staff, Juleton Jean-Louis '23, Dwayne Felder, and Omar Boone led the program to their best season in program history. The Lions secured their first above .500 record in program history, they set the wins record for the program with 17 wins overall and 12 conference wins, the Lions had a program record 7 game win streak, and secured the Lions best finish in conference and home playoff game. In the Westerlund era, the Lions have increased their win total in each year and have set wins records in two seasons, set over 25 offensive records, multiple defensive records, and multiple academic achievements from student-athletes in the program. 

Will Little | Sophomore | Guard - 1st Team 
Little was named 1st Team All-Conference after averaging 16.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.3 steals on 46/35/71 FG/3FG/FT splits. Little was the lone underclassmen on the 1st Team and he is the second men's basketball player to be named 1st team in program history joining former teammate Jamal Cannady Jr. in the elite 1st Team Club.

Jalen Parker | Junior | Forward - 2nd Team
Parker was named 2nd Team All-Conference in his first season with the Lions. Parker made his presence known on both sides of the floor after averaging 12.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.8 blocks on 53% shooting from the field. Parker was a candidate for Defensive Player of the Year after leading the league in blocks and blocks per game. The Baltimore forward set the single game program record for blocks in a game with 7 on December 4 against Gallaudet. He also set the single season offensive rebound record this season as well. 

Jalen Jackson | Junior | Guard - 2nd Team
Jackson had a stat filling first season with the Lions and was rewarded with a 2nd Team All-Conference nod. The Jersey product averaged 11.2 points, 4.5 assists, 3.8 rebounds, 2.2 steals on 43/34/71 FG/3FG/FT splits. Jackson was one of the top assist men in the conference. He was fourth on the team in scoring, first in assists, first in steals, third in rebounds, and third in three point field goals made. Jackson set the single season assist record for the Lions. 

Jakir Hampton | Junior | Guard - 3rd Team 
Hampton was a dynamic, efficient offensive threat for the Lions which helped him garner a 3rd Team All-Conference nod. Hampton averaged 11.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 steals on 46/35/77 FG/3FG/FT splits. Hampton scored over 20 points five times including a season high 28 points against Clarks Summit on January 11.
