Bryn Athyn Announces the 2024 Men's Volleyball Schedule

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - Head Coach Jason Barshinger has announced the men's volleyball schedule for the 2024 season. The Lions are looking to improve on their 3-18 record from 2023, where they went 1-5 in Colonial States Athletic Conference play. The team will enter their third year of the Men's Volleyball program, and the first season of play in the United East Conference. Returning players for the upcoming season include senior Teagan Dewees, senior Blake Halterman, senior Reid Schroeder, junior Laban Genzlinger, and sophomore Ryan Givhan.

"This is a transition year for us in a lot of ways," said Barshinger. "We have a strong group of returners mixed with a freshman class that is working hard and excited to contribute. If we can manage the pieces right and continue to grow and develop, then I feel we have a lot of opportunity for success. The key is to continue to work to be the best version of ourselves and develop more every day. If we are doing that, then we are heading in the right direction."

The 2024 season features 28 matches against competitors from the AMCC, CUNY, MAC, Skyline, and United East conferences spanning across Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The schedule will include five tri-matches and four double headers, as well as six conference matches against United East opponents.

The Lions open the season at home on Sunday, January 21 with a tri-match at the Asplundh Field House against Sarah Lawrence and Immaculata. The month will wrap up with back-to-back play on February 17 in New York against Purchase and York College, followed by a home double header against Yeshiva University on February 18.

Returning to action on March 9, the Lions will play a double header at home against SUNY Old Westbury before beginning United East conference play on March 12 vs Saint Elizabeth.
