BRYN ATHYN, PA. - The Bryn Athyn women's basketball team dominated over Cairn University on Wednesday, January 25th with a final score of 53-37.

Inside the Box Score  

  • Sophomore, Norma Thornhill popped off with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists.  
  • Freshman, Alexa Osafo-Mensah contributed 14 points and added 4 rebounds.  
  • Senior, Kaylia Duncan and Freshman, Emily Driver both came out strong with 8 points and 4 rebounds each.  
  • Senior, Kearah Henry made her presence known by snagging 9 rebounds and having 7 assists.  

How it Happened 

  • The first quarter started off with Cairn taking charge. Bryn Athyn trailed behind closely but could not manage to catch up just yet.  
  • The first ended 10-8, Cairn.  
  • The Lions came hard out the gates in the second quarter.  
  • Emily Driver drained two foul shots to help the Lions steal the lead with 4:31 on the clock.  
  • Bryn Athyn outscored Cairn 11-4 in the second and ended at halftime with a score of 19-14.  
  • Coming out of halftime, Norma Thornhill went on a 7-point scoring streak and for the rest of the quarter, shots continued to fall.  
  • At the end of the third, the Lions led 37-28.  
  • The fourth quarter went in the Lions favor. Norma Thornhill and Eshe Knox made back-to-back three pointers to keep the Lions momentum.  
  • The game ended in a magnificent win for Bryn Athyn, with a final score of 53-37.

  • Bryn Athyn shot 87.5% from the free throw line.  
  • The Lions had 39 team rebounds 28 points in the paint.  
  • Bryn Athyn improves to 9-9 overall and Cairn falls to 4-13 overall.
