The ninth season of competition for Bryn Athyn Women's basketball is set to start this week, as the Lions are set to host Medgar Evans at the Asplundh Field House.
The Lions are coming off their most successful season since 2016-2017. The Lions went 9-14 and secured their first playoff berth as a member of the CSAC. Heading into the year, the Bryn Athyn College women's basketball program received their highest preseason vote in program history after being voted to finish second in the CSAC preseason poll. The expectations are high this year for the Lady Lions after they bring back their top five scorers including All-CSAC performer Terrae Lewis.
The Coach Says: "It's been all about building, from day one since we started this process a few years back. We want to keep doing that, day by day. More history was made last season, so now it's time to strive to take it to the next level, scale the next mountain. Our team is working together to make that happen, and we very much look forward to the climb," Coach Travis Ponton said. He continued on, "I think it's great that we have an experienced core of players who have been with us for two, three seasons. You look at what Terrae and Kay have done in helping transform our program, you see the growth and leadership of a player like Alisha, and then you look at the body of work Norma and Reilly put forth last season as freshmen in helping us get to the postseason, starting lots of games and producing. That's all really valuable, and they each bring something unique and important to the table."
