Men's basketball awarded NABC Academic Excellence Award and place three on NABC Honors Court

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - The Bryn Athyn Men's Basketball team received recognition from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) on Tuesday afternoon when three Lions were named to the NABC Honors Court.  The Lions' Haybert Louchie (unavailable), Nasir Mosley (unavailable), and Isaiah Cureton each garnered NABC Honors Court recognition following their performances in the classroom this year. This is the second time in program history men's basketball has had student-athletes named to the Honors Court.

In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must academically be a junior or senior and a varsity player, have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher for the 2020-21 academic year, matriculated at least one year at their institution, and the team must be a member of the NCAA with a NABC member coach.

In addition, for the second consecutive year, Bryn Athyn Men's Basketball team was awarded the NABC Academic Excellence Award. Team Academic Excellence Awards, created by the NABC Committee on Academics, recognize outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the 2021-22 season.

"I am thrilled for our program and for Haybert, Nas, and Zay. Our guys continue to raise the bar for our program and are aspiring to be the gold standard program," Head Coach Sean Westerlund (unavailable) said following Tuesday's announcement. "These achievements are a testament to the hard work and dedication of each individual and their efforts in the classroom. I am so proud of our guys."
