BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College and Cedar Crest College field hockey teams tried their best to get tonight's Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) contest in, however, Mother Nature had other plans and the game was suspended at halftime due to lightning with Cedar Crest leading 3-1.
A date to complete the contest has not yet been announced.
Annalise Unger opened the scoring for the visiting Falcons with a sharp-angle shot at the right post at the 6:06. The half remained 1-0 until the 24:18 mark when Kyla Rogers leveled the score as she dribbled through the Cedar Crest defense and put her shot into the lower right corner of the goal.
Cedar Crest needed just 48 seconds to regain the lead thanks to a Samantha Johnson tally at the 25:06 mark. Alexandria Arabio extended the gap to 3-1 1:06 after Johnson's go-ahead goal by tipping-in a Serena Shuler pass at the right post.
So far, Bryn Athyn goalie Shelly Drucker has been credited with six saves, while Cedar Crest's Cassandra Reijgers has not made a save.
Bryn Athyn returns to action with a CSAC contest on Saturday, Sept. 29 at Wilson College at 1 p.m.
