ROSEMONT, Pa. – Thanks to back-to-back performances with double-digit saves, Bryn Athyn College freshman goalkeeper Kailey Brower was selected as the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) field hockey defensive player of the week.

Brower finished last week with 29 saves and a .725 save percentage in 123 minutes of action. In her collegiate debut, Brower stopped 13 shots in 53 minutes of relief in a 6-0 loss to Bryn Mawr on Sept. 11. Brower made her first career start on Sept. 15 against Moravian and made 16 saves in an 8-1 loss. The 16 saves are the most by a CSAC goalie so far this season.

Brower is the third different Bryn Athyn field hockey player to earn a conference award this year. Shelly Drucker was the CSAC defensive player of the week on Sept. 4 and Payton Boler took home the CSAC offensive player of the week award on Sept. 10.

Bryn Athyn (1-4) will make its CSAC debut when it closes out a five-game homestand against Cedar Crest on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m.
