BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - The Bryn Athyn College Women's Basketball program set and announced their 2021-2022 schedule on Wednesday afternoon. The Lions will host thirteen games at Asplundh Field House throughout the regular season. The Lions return to the court after a shortened exhibition season in 2021 where the team was able to play eight exhibitions from February 26, 2021 to March 20, 2021. The shortened season was a result of COVID-19 canceling traditional season of play. The eight games were instrumental in the growth and development for the women's basketball team as they continue to build on their new foundation under third year head coach Travis Ponton.
Bryn Athyn will open the 8th season of competition in program history at home on November 6 against Vaughn College (NY) at 12 p.m. The Lions will take a ten day break with first trimester exams and return to the court for a nonconference exhibition against NCAA Division I University of Maryland Eastern Shore on Nov 16. The Lions stay on the road to travel to Patrick Henry College (Va) for a nonconference contest on Nov. 20. CSAC plays starts on Nov. 23 at home for Bryn Athyn as they play host to Rosemont College. Bryn Athyn will return to the court after Thanksgiving break to take on Notre Dame (Md) on the road on Nov. 30. Women's basketball continues their road trend and travel to nearby Cairn for a Dec. 2 date. The Lions come back home on Saturday Dec. 4 to take on Wilson College. Bryn Athyn takes on Keystone College next on Dec. 8 on the road. Two days later, it will be the "Battle of the Bryns" with Bryn Athyn traveling to Bryn Mawr for a 7 p.m. tip off on Dec. 10. The Lions will finish 2021 with four nonconfernece games. First up, the Lady Lions take on Rutgers-Camden for a home tilt on Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. Bryn Athyn will welcome a familiar opponent in Lancaster Bible to Asplundh Field House on Dec. 18 for a 7 p.m. game. The team will travel to Delaware Valley for the final game before Christmas break on Dec. 21. The Lions will wrap up their 2021 portion of the season with a home game against Medgar Evans on Dec. 30.
2022 has the Lions returning to CSAC play at home against Saint Elizabeth on Jan. 6 at 6 p.m.. Bryn Athyn will play host to Clarks Summit for a 5:30 p.m. tip on Jan. 8. The Lions get their first taste of road action in 2022 with a tilt against Cedar Crest on Jan. 12. The Lions will finish the conference series with Rosemont on the road on Jan. 18. Bryn Athyn will come home for a three game home stand from Jan. 20 through Jan. 26. The Lions will start the home stand with a contest against Valley Forge. The team will play host to Cairn on Jan. 22. The Lions will wrap up the home stand with a game against Keystone College on Jan. 26. Bryn Athyn finishes their January schedule with a road contest at Wilson College. The Lady Lions will play host to Notre Dame to open up February on Feb. 2. Bryn Athyn will welcome Cedar Crest to town on Feb. 5 for a 1 p.m. tip off. The Lions will finish their season with a three game road trip as they take on Saint Elizabeth on Feb. 9, Valley Forge on Feb. 17, and Clarks Summit on Feb. 19.
"It's so great have a full game schedule again, as we hopefully continue to emerge from this pandemic," said Ponton. "There are plenty of new opponents on our non-conference slate, and I think our student-athletes are excited to make program history when we face NCAA DI opponent UMES in exhibition, our first ever game against a DI team. And then with conference play, we look forward to renewing those CSAC rivalries after a year away. Our players are coming hungry!"
The CSAC Playoffs are set to begin February 21, 2022.

The Lions return to the court after an abbreviated exhibition season in 2021 where the team was able to play eight exhibitions from February 26, 2021 to March 20, 2021. The abbreviated season was a result of COVID-19 canceling traditional season of play. The eight games were pivotal in helping the men's basketball team identify areas of growth and improvement needed headed into the 2021-2022 season.
