Samantha Miller named head athletic trainer for Bryn Athyn College Athletics

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - After a nationwide search, Samantha Miller has been selected as the head athletic trainer for the Bryn Athyn College Athletic Department. Bryn Athyn College Director of Athletics, Dr. Suzanne Nelson, made the announcement on Monday.  
BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - After a nationwide search, Samantha Miller has been selected as the head athletic trainer for the Bryn Athyn College Athletic Department. Bryn Athyn College Director of Athletics, Dr. Suzanne Nelson, made the announcement on Wednesday.  

Miller comes to Bryn Athyn after a one year stint at NovaCare Rehabilitation. While at NovaCare, Miller assisted local college and high school student-athletes, and aided the schools and student-athletes maintain athletics through the COVID-19 pandemic. 

"I look forward to joining the staff at Bryn Athyn College as the new Head Athletic Trainer, with the hope of having a positive impact and aiding the student athletes both on and off the field and court," said Miller. 

Prior to her time at NovaCare, Miller worked as an instructor in the department of Health and Human Performance and clinically as an assistant athletic trainer at Alfred University (NY). While at Alfred, she covered men's soccer, women's basketball, and both men's and women's lacrosse. 

Senior Athletics Healthcare Administrator, Scott Jones, stated, "With degrees from two Pennsylvania's finest sports medicine curriculums,  I am excited to have Samantha join our Health Services Team.  She will bring enthusiasm and leadership to our sports medicine department, and I look forward to having the opportunity to work with her."

Miller is a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania where she earned her BS in Athletic Training, followed by her M.S. in Exercise & Sports Physiology at West Chester University. While earning her masters, her research focused on female athletes at risk for the Female Athlete Triad. In addition to earning her masters degree, Samantha worked clinically for two years with West Chester's women's gymnastics team, and served as the rehabilitation coordinator for all out of season athletes.  Samantha brings a wealth of clinical experience and expertise to the classroom as she prepares for the 2021-22 athletic seasons.
