BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - Bryn Athyn College Women's Lacrosse was picked to finish third in the 2021 Colonial States Athletic Conference coaches preseason poll released this afternoon. The Lions were one of three team to garner a first place vote. Keystone and Notre Dame were voted one and two ahead of the Lions. Bryn Athyn was ranked ahead of Wilson, Centenary, and Cedar Crest.
Conference play is set to begin on March 28 as the Lions are set to host Centenary at General Nelson Field for a 2:00 PM start time. Head Coach Denise Roessler said, "We are so very grateful for the opportunity to compete with our fellow CSAC members given all the obstacles we are facing right now. We would like to thank all the administrators both at the conference level and the member schools for the hard work and effort that has gone into making this possible. The 2021 Lady Lions are looking forward to competing with a very tough CSAC group and appreciate the opportunity to continue our path of growth with our fellow schools, friends, and families."
Bryn Athyn Lacrosse returns to the field for the first time since February 15, 2020 since COVID-19 canceled the majority of the 2020 season. The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Board of Directors determined that spectators shall be prohibited at all athletic competitions until further notice with a commitment to revisit the decision as conditions change. All games will be livestreamed on the Bryn Athyn Livestream Network.
The 2021 CSAC Championship, which will feature the top four teams, is slated to start on Wednesday, April 21. The top seed is scheduled to host the fourth seed, while the second seed will host the third seed. The two semifinal winners will meet on Saturday, April 24, for the CSAC Championship.
