How it happened:
Lancaster Bible opened the game hot with a 5-0 run, but the Lady Lions responded with their own 6-0 run over the next five minutes to take the lead 6-5. Alisha McKnight was the driving force behind the 6-0 run, scoring four of the six points for the Lions. LBC got back on the board to make the game 7-6 on a layup with 4:07 to go. Bryn Athyn came back with another 6-0 run on two three points from newcomers Terrae Lewis and Chloe Munyon. The Lions led 12-7 late in the quarter, but the Chargers closed strong on a 4-0 run to close the quarter. Bryn Athyn took the 12-11 lead in to second quarter and continued their scoring ways to open the quarter on a 4-0 run to build a 16-11 lead. LBC answered with their own 6-2 run to make the game 18-17. The teams traded baskets through the rest of the second quarter and Lions went into half down 34-31.
The second half was similar to the first. The Lions and Chargers engaged in a back and forth affair through the third quarter with the Chargers adding two points to their lead. The Chargers continued to slowly pull away in the fourth quarter and eventually hand the Lions a 53-43 loss.
By the numbers:
- Lions had two players in double figures: Clayshonia Cogmon with 12 points and added nine boards and Kalie Soulsby with 10 points and three rebounds.
- Lions shot just under 28 percent from the field and 33 percent from three.
- Bryn Athyn won the free throw line getting 20 attempts and sinking 16 compared to LBC's 15-of-18.
- Lions hit seven three point field goals which was the most threes the team has hit since February 15, 2020 when the team went 7-of-19 against Notre Dame (Md.)
