1. What is your favorite aspect of being a coach?
The first time I stepped onto the field, my passion for coaching and, more importantly, mentoring young student-athletes fueled me and has to this day. Lacrosse has provided me with the opportunity to make an impact on young lives and help them strive to be the very best version of themselves on- and off-the-field.
2. What do you like about being a head coach at Bryn Athyn?
What I like about being a head coach at Bryn Athyn College is that student-athletes here represent so many great qualities. They are kind, compassionate, appreciative, and selfless. They are courageous individuals that are willing to give up their own time to compete on behalf of the school as well as for each other day-in and day-out.
3. What is your favorite moment as an athlete?
My favorite moment wasn't in college or high school, it was in grade school! I was in eighth grade and we were competing in a Christmas basketball tournament. There were 10 seconds left on the clock and we were tied. I got fouled so I was on the line ready to take two foul shots. I made the first one and the second would ensure a win. I made the second! And jumped so high with excitement I pulled a muscle. We won the tournament and I will never forget it.
4. What is your favorite coaching moment?
My favorite memory to date at Bryn Athyn College would be my first year and we had barely enough players to put on the field. The team had the mentality of "I need you and you need me". With that mindset, we developed a culture that united all of us to work together no matter what in order to achieve a common goal. This mentality shined through when we played a conference opponent that on paper outmatched us. But we got the victory because all hands were on deck to get us the win.
5. What do you like to do outside of your sport?
I love spending time with my family, watching my daughter play sports, and sitting on the beach.
6. What inspired you to get into coaching?
I started out in my coaching career right out college after hearing a former NBA coach speak at a graduation. He said something that has stuck with me 24 years later - "Follow your BLISS" and I did just that.
7. What is your favorite bus activity?
Rest and the game Heads Up.
8. What is currently sitting in your Netflix queue?
Nothing
9. What coaches influenced you and your coaching style?
I have been very fortunate to have been coached by outstanding coaches which have all influenced me in positive ways. All have encouraged me to be a good communicator, mentor, and lead with optimism.
10. What would your advice be to a prospective student-athlete who is interested in coming to Bryn Athyn?
