What is your favorite aspect of being a coach?
Being part of my players' journey from being naive freshmen to developing into well-rounded adults. That the lessons they learned along the way influence how they are as character people and productive members of society.
What do you like about being a head coach at Bryn Athyn?
I love being part of the foundation of a growing program, implementing ideas and traditions. As well, being part of a small school where administration, faculty, and staff know each other by name and work for the betterment of the college.
What is your favorite moment as an athlete?
Winning the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer National Championship at Glassboro State College (now Rowan University).
What is your favorite coaching moment?
In our second year of the Bryn Athyn women's soccer program, beating Lancaster Bible on penalty kicks to advance to the semifinals of the North Eastern Athletic Conference playoffs. We became the first team in history at Bryn Athyn College to win a conference playoff game.
What do you like to do outside of your sport?
I love being with my family, my wife and kids. Watching my kids play sports and enjoying time at the shore.
What inspired you to get into coaching?
My wife. After being away from the sport for about five years when my daughter was old enough to play soccer and the club asked for volunteers, I did not want to do it. My wife said, "Who else do you want to and who better to coach your kids than you?" I said, "Good point."
What is your favorite bus activity?
Watching Will Ferrell movies

What coaches influenced you and your coaching style?
I learned a lot from my college coach Dan Gilmore, but my coaching style comes from my aunt, Carol Griffin. She spent 30 years coaching softball and field hockey at George Washington High School. She had an amazing way to connect and build relationships with her players, relationships she still has today.
What would your advice be to a prospective student-athlete who is interested in coming to Bryn Athyn?
There is a great opportunity to make an impact on your athletic team right away. Focus on being a person of great character and work with your coach and upperclassmen toward your program goals. Know your role within the pride and focus on doing that to the best of your abilities.
