Men's Ice Hockey Falls to Calvin, 5-4 in the ACHA Ice Hockey Nationals

Bryon Center, MI – The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team fell to #2 Calvin College, 6-4 in game three of pool play at the ACHA Ice Hockey national championships. 

Kyle Jennings was named Howies Hockey Tape Play of the Game.

Jennings led the Lions with two goals.  Ryan Hollingshead and Anthony Notofrancesco scored one goal each.  

Both teams started the game exchanging shots on net. But both teams would end the period scoreless. The Knights outshot the Lions 14-6.

Calvin took control of the game scoring four unanswered goals in the second.  Three goals were even, and one goal was short handed. 

The Knights started the third period scoring 2:49 into the period.  The Lions started to chip away at the Calvin lead at the 3:32 mark.  Hollingshead pinched into the offensive zone, and took the shot to beat the goalie top shelf.  A minute later, Notorfrancesco scored from the crease on the power play to bring the Lions within three goals.  Bryn Athyn kept their offensive pressure, Jennings deflected in a shot off Paul Napierkowski shot from the point at 6:17.  Jennings added his second goal off the night, punching in a shoot off a pass from Sean Feyler at 12:29.  Trailing by a goal, the Lion out shot the Knights 11-4 in the third period, but Calvin would win the game 5-4.

Steven Altman made 26 saves in net for the Lions. 

Bryn Athyn would end the season with 30 wins and made their second appearance at nationals.
