Aston, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team shut out Richard Stockton, 7-0, in the semifinal game of the DVCHC playoffs, Saturday night.
Anthony Notofrancesco led the Lions with two goals and one assist. Cullen McNally scored one goal and two assists. DJ Mulhern and Chris Ebersole scored one goal and one assist each. Shane McCurdy and Justin Nugent notched one goal each.
The Lions controlled the game, keeping the Ospreys scoreless.
Notofrancesco scored first for the Lions at the 11:11 mark of the first period, off a clearing pass from McNally, he went backdoor and sneaked in the goal. At the 7:45 mark, Mulhern beat the goalie coming from the right side off a pass from McNally. With less than two minutes in the period, Nugent beat the goalie one on one to give the Lions a 3-0 lead.
In the second period, Notofrancesco scored the lone goal in the period at 13:09 mark, from top of the circles.
McCurdy started the scoring at the third period, punching in a loose puck from a shot off Steven Stanos. At the 7:25 mark, McNally scored off a pass from Nikita Klinisovs. With three minutes left in the game, Ebersole scored the seventh goal of the night.
The Lions take on Rowan tomorrow at 6:00 pm in the finals of the DVCHC.
