Bryn Athyn, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team defeated #5 Fairfield in overtime, 4-3 in non conference action Saturday night.
Before the game, we honored our three senior, Travis McCurdy, Graham Lermitte and Steven Altman.
Kyle Jennings led the Lions with two goals. Travis McCurdy and Sean Feyler scored one goal each. Cullen McNally and Justin Nugent had one assist each.
Fairfield controlled the first two periods, scoring three unanswered goals.
Feyler started the scoring for the Lions in the third period, at the 17:08 mark. He picked up a loose puck, top of the blue line and scored bar down to bring the game within two goals, 3-1. Three minutes later, McCurdy scored on the power play, beating the goalie from the right circle to bring the game within one goal. Jennings tied the game at the 12:03 mark of the third period, crashing into the slot. The Stags had chances at the end of the period on the power-play, but the Lions battled and took the game into overtime.
Jennings scored the game winning goals, picking up a rebound shot from McNally on the point to lift the Lions 4-3.
Steven Altman made 20 saves in net for the Lions.
