Bryn Athyn, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey tied California of PA., 5-5 in overtime, in non conference Friday night.
Kyle Jennings and Anthony Notofrancesco scored one goal and one assist each. Jayson Marbach, Devyn Dworsky, and Collen McNally scored one goal each.
The Vulcans got on the board first, scoring at the 18:51 mark. The Lions answered 20 seconds later, from a deflection goal by Jennings, off a shot from Notofrancesco. Marbach sniped a goal at the 16:45 mark in the first period, to take a 2-1 lead. Dworsky pushing in a loose rebound at 14:19, off a shot from Nikita Klinisovs at 14:19 to take a two goal lead. The Lions would end the first period leading 3-1.
The Vulcans took control of the second period scoring two unanswered goals to tie the game at 3-3.
30 seconds into the third period, the visitors scored to retake the lead, 4-3. At the 16:37 period, the Vulcans scored to take a two-goal lead. Bryn Athyn fought their way back to bring the game within one, Notofrancesco scored on the power-play at 14:56. At the 12:40 mark, McNally scored off a pass from Travis McCurdy to tie the game at 5-5. The period would end in a tie and take it into overtime.
Both teams battled in overtime, and would end the game in a 5-5 tie.
Steven Altman made 25 saves in net for the Lions.
