BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College women's cross country team took second in a home meet against Penn State Abington and Chestnut Hill College on a hot Wednesday afternoon on Bryn Athyn's campus.
Bryn Athyn finished just 11 points behind Chestnut Hill for the team victory. The Griffins had the winning score of 23 points and the Lions had 34 points. Penn State Abington didn't post a team score because the Nittany Lions had three runners compete.
For the second straight week, Natalie Daum was Bryn Athyn's top runner after she finished the 4-kilometer time of 18 minutes, 36.9 seconds to take fourth overall.
Ava Elder took 1:40 off of last week's 4K time as she completed Wednesday's race in 20:00.4 and came in fifth place. Alair Brock took seventh with a time of 20:19.4. Morgan Flynn finished right behind Brock by posting the eighth-place time of 20:20.7.
LianHua Lenihan had the 10th-place time of 20:52.2 to take Bryn Athyn's final scoring position. Anwyn Brock completed Bryn Athyn's lineup by coming in 13th with a time of 24:03.2.
Chestnut Hill's Erica Waleski posted the winning time of 18:00.3.
Bryn Athyn will compete in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Championship on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Belmont Plateau.
