Men's Ice Hockey Emerge Victorious Over Alvernia, 7-3

Reading, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team defeated Alvernia University, 7-3 in DVCHC action on the road at the Santander Arena.

Scott Witmyer led the Lions with two goals and one assist. Nikita Klinisovs scored one goal and one assist. Sean Feyler, Devyn Dworsky, Kyle Jennings and Anthony Notofrancesco scored goal a piece in the win.

Bryn Athyn took control of the game from the first period, scoring three unanswered goals. Klinisovs picked up a loose puck in the slot, passed it to Notofrancesco, who was crashing the net to score the first goal at the 6:39 mark. Witmyer scored the second goal of the game, off a pass from Ryan Hollingshead at 13:48. With three minutes left in the game, Jennings scored off a pass from Witmyer to take a 3-0 lead going into the first break. 

Feyler scored two minutes into the second period off a pass from Chris Ebersole and Connor Buick.  The Crusaders score two goals to chip away at the Bryn Athyn lead to 4-2 at 13:29 and 14:44. Dworsky scored from the point off a pass from Shane McCurdy to end the second period with a 5-2 lead.  

The Lions secured their win with three unanswered goals in the third period.  Witmyer scored at the 5:30 mark from the left circle, off a cross neutral zone pass from Cullen McNally.  Alvernia scored their third goal of the night at the 10:45 mark. Klinisovs scored with four minutes left in the game to extend the Lions lead to 7-3 

Landon Trutt made six saves in net for the Lions.
