Freeport, NY – The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team fell to Farmingdale State 6-4 in non conference action Friday night on the road.
Travis McCurdy led the Lions with four goals. Cullen McNally and Chris Ebersole notched two assists a piece.
McCurdy put the Lions on the net early at the 14:09 mark of the first period, on a 5-3 power play. The Rams tied the game five minutes later, off a low post screened shot in the slot. McCurdy put the Lions up 2-1 with six minutes left in the first period. Ebersole came down the left side of the ice with speeding, dumping the puck into the slot for McCurdy to put it on.
Farmingdale State took control of the second, scoring five unanswered goals to take a 6-2 lead.
The Lions chipped away at the Farmingdale State, with a power play goal from McCurdy, 40 seconds into the third period. He scored again with seven minutes left in the game to bring the game within two goals. The Lions pulled their goalie with 1:30 left, but the Rams secured their win, with an empty net goal.
Landon Trutt saw the first 30 minutes in net and Graham Lermitte finished in net for rest of the game.
The Lions take on Central Florida tomorrow at 6:00 pm at Farmingdale State.
