Bryn Athyn, Pa.- The Bryn Athyn College women's tennis team picked up their first win of the season, defeating Lancaster Bible 6-3 in Thursday afternoon action.
Beth Earle won 6-3, 6-3 in the no. 1 slot, while Holly Adams dropped 6-3, 6-1 at second singles. At third singles Megan Reinprecht won a hard fought battle, defeating her opponent 7-6 in the first set, winning the tiebreak 8-6. Reinprecht then dropped the second set 6-4, and went on to top her opponent 7-6 in the third set, winning the tiebreak 7-2. Palesa Mphatse won a hard fought battle at fourth singles as well, defeating her opponent 7-6 in the first set, winning the tiebreak 7-5. After dropping the second set 6-4, Mphatse won 7-6 in the third set, winning the tiebreak 13-11. Bryn Athyn recorded two wins in the fifth and sixth single slots due to forfeit.
Earle and Reinprecht fell 8-1 at first doubles, while Michaela Boyesen and Tori Hallstrom dropped 8-2 in the no. 2 spot. The Lions recorded a win in the third doubles spot due to forfeit.
Captain Earle expressed, "I am proud of how our team stood strong today. It was not an easy win, but it sure was a satisfying one."
The team returns to the road Saturday, April 6th to face Arcadia. The match is slated for 12:00 pm.
