BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – Kristen White (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern)  scored with just 7:51 left in regulation to lift the Bryn Athyn College women's soccer team to a 1-0 non-conference victory over Old Westbury Saturday afternoon on General Ronald K. Nelson Field.

White broke free from the Panther defense after Lyss Bosler (Fairless Hill, Pa./Bucks County Tech) delivered a pass to the right side of the Old Westbury (1-4) net. After getting the pass, White took one stop and put her shot past Alexia Higgins into the upper left corner for her second goal of the season.

Allie Warren (Tower City, Pa./Lebanon Catholic) was once again strong in net for the Lions (4-1) as she stopped five shots to pick up her third shutout of 2017.

Warren and the Lions also caught a couple of breaks as Old Westbury's Alysha Annarella hit two crossbars. In a scoreless match during the 63rd minute, Annarella fired a shot from 25 yards out that hit the bottom of the crossbar and bounced away from the goal. Four minutes after White put the Lions up 1-0, Annarella rang a second attempt off the crossbar after Warren left a rebound from Annarella's initial shot.

Higgins had five saves for Old Westbury. Both teams attempted 13 shots.

Bryn Athyn has a week off to prepare for the beginning of North Eastern Athletic Conference play on Saturday, Sept. 23 at Gallaudet at 6 p.m.
