ROSEMONT, Pa. – Bryn Athyn College women's lacrosse sophomore defender Sarah Reed was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) defensive player of the week by the conference office Monday.
Reed led the Bryn Athyn defense in a pair of home conference victories with 11 ground balls and 8 caused turnovers. In the Lions' 13-11 win over the College of Notre Dame, Reed recorded four ground balls and three caused turnovers, both game highs. She had her best statistical game of the year as she had seven ground balls and five caused turnovers, both season bests, during an 18-0 triumph over Centenary (N.J.).
She is the second Lion this season to earn the CSAC defensive player of the week award. Tina Tu was selected as the conference's defensive player of the week on March 26.
In the CSAC, Reed ranks first in caused turnovers per game (3.00), second in caused turnovers (21), third in ground balls per game (4.57), and fourth in ground balls (32).
Bryn Athyn (5-2, 4-1 CSAC) goes for its fourth straight victory on Wednesday, April 10 when the Lions head to Notre Dame for a 4:15 p.m. start.
