Lions tabbed third in CSAC preseason coaches poll

ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College women's lacrosse team was selected third in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) preseason coaches poll that was released by the conference office Wednesday. The league's six head coaches conducted the voting.

Bryn Athyn received 26 of the 36 available points and two of the six first-place votes.

The Lions return nine players, including two 2018 All-North Eastern Athletic Conference selections, from the 2018 team that went 9-4 and reached the semifinal of the NEAC Tournament. Bri Lennox was the NEAC rookie of the year after ranking fourth in goals with 59 and sixth in points with 67. Sarah Reed earned a place on the second team after she recorded 25 caused turnovers and 41 ground balls, which were 14th and 18th in the conference.

Keystone sits atop the poll with 29 points and one first-place vote, while Notre Dame (Md.) was second with 27 points and two first-place votes.

Centenary (4th, 18 points), Cedar Crest (5th, 17 points, 1 first-place vote), and Rosemont (6th, 9 points) complete the poll.

Bryn Athyn opens the 2019 season on Friday, March 15 against SUNY Maritime at 4 p.m. on General Ronald K. Nelson Field.
