BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College women's lacrosse team will make its North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Tournament debut on Tuesday, May 1 when the Lions host Wells College in the opening round of the tournament at 2 p.m. on General Ronald K. Nelson Field.
Bryn Athyn concluded the regular season with an 8-3 overall record and earned the fourth seed in the conference tournament by going 6-3 in NEAC play.
The Lions have won the last two meetings against the Express, including a 15-3 victory on March 25 on General Nelson Field, to even the all-time series at 2-2. In this year's meeting, Bri Lennox registered six goals, while Tina Tu, Laura Clymer, Sarah Smith, and Sabrina Colbirdge scored twice. The Lions outshot the Express 27-13.
Wells, who is also making its postseason debut, enters the NEAC Tournament as the number five seed thanks to a 5-4 conference record. The Express are 6-4 overall.
Tuesday's winner will face top seed and host of the semifinals and final Morrisville State on Saturday, May 5 at 11:30 p.m.
On the other side of the bracket, third-seeded Keuka will host sixth-seeded Penn State Abington in the first round with the winner taking on second-seeded Medaille.
The semifinal winners will square off in the final on Sunday, May 6.
The winner of the NEAC Tournament will get the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
