GANSEVOORT, N.Y. -- Bryn Athyn College women's lacrosse senior goaltender Anja Weisser was selected as the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) defensive player of the week by the conference office on Monday.
In the Lions' only match last week, Weisser recorded 10 saves and five ground balls, both season highs, in a 14-3 Bryn Athyn victory over NEAC opponent Penn State Abington on March 30.
Weisser—who earned her first NEAC weekly recognition since April 20, 2015—is the second straight Lion to take home the NEAC defensive player of the week award. Defender Gianna Ciacciarelli was the conference's defensive player of the week a week ago.
She is second in Division III with a .607 save percentage and fourth with a 4.40 goals against average, both NEAC bests. Weisser sits seventh in the NEAC with 34 saves and 16th with 3.20 ground balls per game.
Bryn Athyn (4-1, 2-1 NEAC) goes on the road for the first time this season to take on Lancaster Bible College in a NEAC contest on Saturday, April 7 at 1 p.m.
