California, PA – The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team took down #1 California Univ of PA for the second time this year in key non conference match up on the road.
Terrence Johnson had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 6-4 win over California Univ of PA. Kyle Jennings scored one goal and notched three assists. Anthony Astorino had one goal and two assists. Travis McCurdy scored one goal and one assist. Sean Feyler had one goal. Bryn Athyn received assists from David Dalcortivo, who had two and Paul Napierkowski and Justin Nugent, who each chipped in one.
Johnson's goal came at 13:25 into the first period, to make the score 1-0 off a pass from Jennings and Dalcortivo. The Vulcans scored two quick goals at 15:52 and 16:31 mark to take a 2-1 lead going into the second period.
2:11 into the second period, CAL scored to extend their lead to 3-1. The Lion's chipped away at the Vulcan lead with a goal by McCurdy off a pass from Jennings and Dalcortivo. CAL came back with a goal of their own two minutes, later to rebuild their lead. The Lions forwards weren't the only contributors offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. With two minutes left in the second game Asternio and Feyler scored to tie the game at 4-4, going into the third period.
Lions came out in the third period on fire, Johnson scored the game-winning goal five minutes into the period off a pass from McCurdy and Napierkowski. Jennings scored an open net goal to seal the 6-4 win over the Vulcans.
