Bryn Athyn, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's ice hockey team defeated #3 Farmingdale State, 5-4 in non conference action Sunday afternoon in the championship game of the Bryn Athyn Classic.
Anthony Notorfancesco led the Lions with two goals. Terrence Johnson, Justin Nugent and Scott Witmyer scored a goal and assist each. Travis McCurdy notched two assists.
The Rams scored first five minutes into the period to get on the board. Johnson answered for the Lions, after winning the faceoff and tying the game at 1-1. Notorfancesco scored for Bryn Athyn at 14:49 off a pass from Jasyon Marbach and Nugent to take lead and score the game winner. With 25 seconds left in the first period, Jennings scored off a pass from Johnson and McCurdy to build a two-goal lead going into the break.
Bryn Athyn took control of the second period, scoring at the 14-minute mark by Witmyer off a pass from Jennings. Notorfancesco scored his second goal of the night at 7:52 to build their lead to 5-1. With 30 seconds left in the second period, the Ram score to bring the game within three going into the break.
Farmindale scored two goals in the third, but wasn't enough to defeat the Lions.
Kyle Watters made 35 saves in net for the Lions.
