Abington, PA - The Bryn Athyn women's lacrosse team returned to NEAC action today after winning a dramatic 8-7 game yesterday over NEAC member Medaille College. SUNY Poly came to town today atop the NEAC standing with a record of 3-0 in the conference and 6-1 overall.

SUNY Poly jumped out to a quick lead scoring two goals in the first minute of action. Coach Roessler took a key timeout to slow the Poly momentum. Emma Gross would win the next faceoff leading to an offensive push by the Lions. The Lions would drive to the goal but were unable to capitalize.
The Lions made key defensive changes following the timeout which seemed to slow the Poly offense. Anja Weisser made a key save with 23 minutes remaining off her face mask to keep the deficit at four.

Bryn Athyn would cause several key defensive turnovers towards the end of the half, lead Gage Blair and Bianca Feliciano. Weisser would make several key stops to keep Poly off the board.
Sabrina Colbridge would break through and get the Lions on the board with four minutes remaining in the half. Colbridge took a pass and cut through two Poly defenders and bounce shot the ball past the Poly goalie. Poly would hold a 6-1 lead.

The Lions would start the second half with intensity. In a battle of ball possession, Bryn Athyn would hold the ball for most of the start. Michelle Bedford worked the ball from behind the net to Colbridge and then on to Myranda Hyatt. Hyatt would step and shoot, but the Poly goalie would be up for the test. Poly would hold the 8-1 lead with 25 minutes to go.

Emma Gross would look to spark the Lions offense by cutting through the Poly defense and drawing the free possession. On the free shot, Gross would cut and shoot back far post and score, cutting the deficit to six.

The Lions would not go away. On the next possession, Colbridge would cut through the Poly players, get to the 8 meter and draw a foul. With that control, Colbridge would shoot the ball on the bounce to the top corner. The Lions would trail 8-3 with 22 minutes to go.

SUNY Poly would fire right back scoring on the next six shots to increase their lead to 14-3.
The Wildcats would go on to win 16-3. With the loss, the Lions drop to 1-2 in the conference and 2-4 overall. They return to action next Saturday at conference member Cazenovia College.
